Personality Bio
Hello Listeners, my name is Daniel, I am 24 years old, I've lived in Iowa my entire life, and I love it! I'm married, and have a 4 year old son, who rules.

Things I am into: Soccer (football), walking my dog Natty, my record player, my iPod, reading, researching music, going to the library, going to Zzz Records, or any other record store, and of course traveling. I've been all over the world including; Japan, Alaska, and Canada, but my favorite places to visit are Colorado, New York and Tennessee.

I am insanely into music; it's really all I spend my money and time on. Road tripping to concerts is probably my favorite thing to do ever. Music really means a lot to me, I'm into all types of music, which is why I love being on Capital 106.3. I am pretty much obsessed with all things Bob Dylan, some of my other favorites include Tom Waits, Billy Corgan, Bob Marley, Beck, The Velvet Underground, Nick Cave, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Iron & Wine, Ben Kweller, Leonard Cohen, Andrew Bird, and too many others to name.

I'm so excited for the new William Elliott Whitmore album I can hardly stand it, I think I've mentioned this before.  He is my favorite Iowa musician, and I hope to have him on the Capital Backyard some day.  Click on the picture to go to his website...

Merriweather Post Pavillion
Thursday 01-08-2009 12:59pm CT
It's weird that what will probably end up being one of the top albums of 2009, was released on the very first Tuesday of 2009.  The new album from the Animal Collective was one of my most anticipated albums of this year, much like their album Strawberry Jam was in 2007.  Since seeing them play at the Picador in Iowa City, I've been completely hooked on Animal Collective... their new album Merriweather Post Pavillion doesn't disapoint.

And the album art is just playing crazy...you have to do to this for vinyl...yeah this is really it.

Favorite Momemts of 2008
Sunday 12-28-2008 7:15pm CT

Well, I made a favorite album of 2008 list, which I’m pretty happy with.  And looking back at one of my favorite years ever, I’ve decided to make a favorite moment’s list.  In order, here are my favorite moments of 2008.

1.      Dancing on stage with the Flaming Lips at 80/35…of course

2.      Meeting Nick Cave outside of a concert in Chicago…he was eating a carrot.

3.      Getting a tour of Slipknot’s recording set up at Sound Farm Studios

4.      Singing “Don’t Go” on stage with the Poison Control Center at the Mews

5.      Bonnaroo…from camping by the entrance, meeting Nathan Followell of Kings of Leon, to seeing Sigur Ros and and Broken Social Scene, this was the greatest Bonnaroo yet!

6.      Broadcasting from the 80/35 Festival, the whole weekend was like a dream

7.      Seeing William Elliott Whitmore multiple times

8.      The Silver Jews at the Picador, a great band that more people should listen too

9.      Ryan Adams in the Capital Studio

10.  Every local show that I saw and loved, there are too many to name…here’s a few…Radio Moscow, Cleo’s Apartment, PCC, Envy Corps, Dirty Little Rabbits, Public Property
