Iowa Native Returns Home Yes, I admit it. I bolted. I grew up in Ames, even stuck it out at ISU for 5 years while getting my feet wet at KCCQ. I craved more, so.... Road Trip! Get me to the sunshine! I hung out in Florida (relatives,) and California (brother,) and after 9 months of travel, ended up at top 40 KYOS AM, Merced. That was pretty awful so I took the first job I could get - KFMH in Muscatine. Ironic. The journey continued with stops at WTKX in Pensacola (I love the sunshine!) WAPI in Birmingham, WONE in Akron (met and married the Ex,) then on to KAZY in Denver, where I thought I'd try being a Realtor for 6 years (found out I'm not a masochist,) so begged and got a gig at the legendary KBCO in Boulder. After a divorce I headed for the land of enchantment and KPEK in Albuquerque. When I found out the kind of radio station Capital 106.3 would become, there was much more begging, and well, the rest as they say is.... actually, this history is in the making! I have a feeling this is going to be the best part of the trip so far, and I thank you for being a part of it! (FYI - The dermatologist says the sunshine is my enemy, so now I just visit the sunshine when I can afford a dive trip.)
