Why are they doing this?

I was looking forward to the Ferris Bueller commercial.

And the one with Seinfeld.

SEEN THEM!

Why?? Why are they releasing the Big Game commercials early? I could care less about this year's game (Giants and Patriots AGAIN?). For some of people, the commercials are the highlight.

Now there's nothing to look forward to....unless the ladies are treated to Eli Manning "Justin Timberlake'ing" Tom Brady. Not likely to happen.

Happy Groundhog Day! The rodent saw its shadow, but I won't complain if we get six months of winter......January felt more like spring!

My tradition continues...we'll be watching the movie Groundhog Day tonight, starring two of my favorites: Bill Murray and Chris Elliott.

Speaking of Bill Murray, did you hear the latest on the new Ghostbusters movie? Apparently, Bill read the script for Ghostbusters 3, tore it up into pieces, and mailed it back to Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis. This is from a tabloid, so who knows how much of it is true....but word is, he HATED it. 

They also said he attached a note, telling Dan and Harold that nobody wants to see "fat old men chasing ghosts." That's where he's wrong. We Ghostbuster fans DO want to see that, Bill! (Unless this script is anything like the sequel...I think Ghostbusters 2 is awful) 

The director is really hyping up Cee-Lo Green's Super Bowl ad, saying it includes "the greatest car chase ever seen in a commercial." Here's a  look from behind the scenes:

I've had a couple of people ask to bring back my "What I'm Listening To Today" series. It's a chance for me to chat about some lesser-known (sometimes obscure) gems without cluttering up the radio. People tune in to hear their favorites, and not my personal music collection. Therefore, this blog is the prime place to host something more in line with the High Fidelity club. That's a reference to the movie about music snobs w/ John Cusack and Jack Black...no, I'm not suggesting I act that arrogant. My feeling is that music tastes are subjective. People like what sounds good to them..there is no wrong answer.

I'm going to start with something far off the beaten path...even for me. A lot of times before bed, I like to wind down with some new age/meditative music. Last night, I created a custom Enya channel on i-Heart radio, and this one came up in the mix. I haven't been able to get this little groove out of my head...

There's a lot of buzz surrounding this 10-second preview of a Super Bowl commercial featuring the return of Ferris Bueller. Personally, I'm more interested in this ad than the game. (Seriously - Unless you're a Giants or Patriots fan, who cares?)

After absorbing mere seconds, I'm convinced that an actual sequel to this movie---three decades later---would absolutely work! With all of the bad 80's remakes, here's one they could do brilliantly. Ferris and his middle-aged pals ditching work? I'm there.
