Background

Born August 16th in the Chicago land area, my childhood was spent mostly on the south side of Chicago, and in Shenandoah Valley of Northern Virginia.

As a small boy, my Grandmother would bring me to this tiny radio station where she worked as a bookkeeper. There I would sit in the studio with the disc jockeys, and help them spin 45’s. I think that’s what got me fascinated with the magic of radio. I remember playing radio station at home with music from the Beatles, Roy Orbison, Buddy Holly, and the Rolling Stones. The first 45 record I ever bought was Blondie’s “The Tide is High”.

Now I spin Quality Music from Then and Now for your workday at Capital 106.3!

Personal
I try to stay humble in life. I believe that everything is temporary, so you should enjoy life and try to do some good while you’re here. It’s all about good Karma and passing it on.
As an Eagle Scout, I grew up doing a lot of volunteer work in the community and have continued that tradition working in radio. I know Capital 106.3 will do what it can to help the community as well. My two favorite charities are Blank Children’s Hospital and The Leukemia Society.

I love riding motorcycles, playing drums, camping, hiking, skydiving, and doing anything related to aviation. I really enjoy fine food and fine wine (mostly reds)!

I’m also an animal lover. I grew up with dogs, cats, rabbits, horses, and even chickens!

Highlights
First and foremost, I truly love being an Uncle to my two nephews Christopher and Maxwell, and my two nieces Caitlin and Sydney.

One of the highlights of my career was mixing sound for Dave Matthews in an intimate acoustic setting , which was a lot like a Capital Studio C performance. I’ve also been fortunate to mix sound and record for Jewel, Hootie & the Blowfish, Blues Traveler, Uncle Kracker, Edwin McCain, Nelly Furtado, Josh Kelley, Sixpence None the Richer, and Sarah McLachlan.

I had a short-lived interest in being a roadie, so I worked as a Lighting Technician for U2 on their Zoo TV tour. My family used to manage a lot of the big hair bands back in the 80’s like Bon Jovi, Motley Crue, Scorpions, and Skid Row! They currently manage KISS. I’ve been an extra in three major motion pictures… pay attention, I’m not on camera very long… but it was completely amazing, and I was fortunate to meet a lot of famous peeps in the process. The films are Rules of Engagement (with Samuel L Jackson & Tommy Lee Jones), Contact (with Jodi Foster), and The Jackyl (with Bruce Willis).

Places I've Been
Australia, Chile, Cozumel, The Bahamas, Bisbee.

SXSW in Austin was a blast, espcially hanging out with Iowa bands!

What a couple of hansome dudes, huh?  Me and Dick Prall!  He put on a great show at Maggie Mae's.  I'm really getting into Halfway to Hollywood and Side by Side!

Me with Jason and Mike of The Nadas.  I forgot to tell them that I can sit in on drums anytime Ian is busy.  These guys kicked some butt during their set at Maggie Mae's on Saturday.
